On October 11, 2007 the Picarello Family and the Anthony Picarello Foundation suffered a devastating loss. Ruth Picarello, co-founder and heart of the Anthony Picarello Foundation lost her battle with cancer. Amidst the darkness and grief, one truth has come to light. Ruthie selflessly poured her heart and soul into helping families and individuals who are coping with pre and post transplantation through the foundation. Her dedication and compassion to this cause was unmatched.
It was her wish that this work be continued and expanded upon to help even more families and individuals in need. So it is with heavy hearts but fierce determination that the members of the Anthony Picarello Foundation resolve to renew and strengthen our commitment to those coping with pre and post transplantation. We hope that you will continue to support this cause and help us carry on the legacy of our angel, Ruth Picarello. Rest in peace, Ruthie.
This years “Gift of Life” Event is being held as a tribute to Ruth Picarello. The celebration will take place on Thursday, April 24th 2008 at Suffolk Downs in East Boston. Hope to see you there! Click here for more information.

Our Mission Statement
The Anthony Picarello Foundation is a non profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of organ and tissue donations and organ transplants and to providing financial assistance and support to individuals or their families facing a life saving transplant.
Our Vision
We aim to help save more lives, help improve the quality of life and help provide hope for individuals who are in need of an organ or tissue transplant and their families.
To do this we will:
- Raise awareness on becoming an organ donor.
- Reach out to individuals awaiting an organ transplant and provide support for them and their families.
- Provide financial assistance to qualified individuals or their families who are experiencing financial distress throughout the process of an organ transplantation.
The “Peace of Mind Fund” was created to provide financial assistance to qualified individuals and their families who are awaiting a lifesaving transplant and experiencing financial distress. This fund is the first of its kind. Since 2000, the Foundation has grown from assisting 10 needy families a year, to assisting an overwhelming 67 families in 2007. We are committed to expanding the Foundation, so that we can broaden our abilities to help those in need. With your help we can reach these goals and give hope to those in need.
