Sarah Saben is the youngest child of Jean and Michael Saben. Sarah was diagnosed with biliary atresia at one month of age. Because the Sabens don’t live here in Boston, Jean had to live here, away from her other family members, for a few months. After delays in the surgeries Sarah had her liver transplant in the summer of 2004. Sarah has been doing very well in her recuperation.

Robert Pesce had a liver and kidney transplant in August of 2003. Mr. Pesce had been out of work for three years prior to his transplant. His request was for housing when he was able to leave the hospital.

Christine Doyle received a liver and kidney in April of 2003. After many complications and extended stays in the hospital, it had cause a financial hardship for the family.

Alan Lemiuex was a liver transplant recipient in 2003. We first spoke to Jill his daughter in early 2003 and found out how suddenly her father became ill and could not work. Jill and her family are grateful to have had time with Alan. After attending the Walk-A-Thon for the American Liver Foundation they contributed to the APF by having a yard sale.

Lorenzo Galarzo is an eighteen month old that had a heart transplant in October 2004. After Lorenzo was born he was diagnosed with severe dilated cardiomyopathy. We met Lorenzo the day he was leaving the hospital and we could see he was a normal toddler now.

L.J.Langelier a fourteen year old from Maine was sick with a heart condition for most of his life. In June of 2004 he condition worsned and could not be controlled with medicine anymore.
